Ingredients

For the bites

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, chopped (or real lump crab)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay or paprika (optional) Optional seasoning for added flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle in half for smaller appetizer-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, chopped crab, mozzarella, green onions, garlic powder, and lemon zest. Mix until smooth.
  • Spoon a small amount of filling onto each dough piece. Fold and pinch to seal.

Baking

  • Place on baking sheet, seam side down. Bake 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm, with optional dipping sauces.

Notes

You can make and freeze these unbaked. Bake from frozen at 375°F for 18–20 minutes. Don’t overfill the dough or they’ll burst open. Use parchment to prevent soggy bottoms. Real lump crab gives a more delicate, sweeter flavor if available.
