Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic to the pan. Cook until the onion becomes soft and fragrant, stirring often.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Add pasta noodles directly into the sauce mixture. Stir well and cover. Simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the noodles are tender and the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil until melted and creamy.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcook the pasta noodles. Stir cheese in at the end for a smooth melt. Serve with salad or biscuits for a full meal.
