Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts medium-sized or halved if thick

Creamy Topping

  • 1 cup sour cream full-fat or light, avoid fat-free
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • paprika or dried parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the mixture evenly over each chicken breast, covering the tops completely.
  • Optionally, sprinkle paprika or dried parsley over the top for color.
  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F and the topping is golden and bubbly.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to retain juices.

Notes

You can prep the topping ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake. Leftovers are great for wraps or salads, and this dish also freezes well after baking.
