Ingredients
  

Pastry

  • puff pastry

Filling

  • sausage meat
  • breadcrumbs
  • fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley)
  • salt and pepper

  • 1 egg for sealing and brushing

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the sausage meat, breadcrumbs, herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface, then cut it into wide strips.
  • Place a log of sausage mixture down the center of each pastry strip and roll tightly, sealing with egg wash.
  • Slice each roll into even pieces, brush the tops with egg, and arrange them on your tray.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold pastry for best flakiness. Add cranberry sauce for a sweet twist, or sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking.
  • Make ahead and freeze unbaked for easy entertaining.
