  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked turkey shredded or chopped
  • 1 package stuffing mix prepared according to package
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter dotted on top
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cooked turkey, cream of chicken soup, milk, and vegetables until smooth and creamy.
  • Spoon the turkey mixture into the prepared dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Prepare the stuffing mix according to the package instructions and fluff with a fork.
  • Layer the stuffing on top of the turkey mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and dot with butter.
  • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the top is golden and the casserole is bubbling.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

To avoid a dry casserole, don’t overbake. Also, measure the milk carefully to keep the sauce creamy. Letting the casserole rest before serving helps the layers settle. You can also prepare it ahead or freeze it for up to 2 months.
